Support Yad L'Shuv
Where Its Needed Most
When deciding to give a gift to the Yad L'Shuv Foundation, consider donating to where your gift is most needed. Our Annual Fund is one of our most important resources and a large percentage of the Fund is allocated towards enhanced programing.
Consider this:
We especially turn to our mentor & mentee families to help us with the Annual Fund. Approximately 22 percent of these families make contributions each year to Yad L'Shuv. Now all our families are being asked to do their part to increase that number and answer the call to meet the increased needs of our baalei teshuvah.
''We have made a commitment that every baal teshuvah who wants advocacy and/or mentorship will receive these services. That commitment creates real urgency in our Annual Fund Campaign,'' said Gila Cohen, senior director of the Chaver Program. ''The Annual Fund is our lifeblood. It's the steady source of discretionary funds--the cash flow in our checking account. It's used right now to pay the bills, to meet basic needs and, most importantly, to fund programs.''
"Simply stated, for everyone with a connection to Yad L'Shuv, the Annual Fund campaign should be considered our annual obligation, above and beyond what we may be giving in other gifts, large or small,'' declared Elizer Semel, member of the Yad L'Shuv Foundation Board of Directors. ''When we talk about an institution like Yad L'Shuv, we need to remember that it exists not just in order to be. It exists, it must exist, in order to deliver extraordinary and unique value to the Orthodox world at large. Its funding is not about balancing books or making money. It is about building a very special kind of future."
"The Annual Fund is a clear demonstration of the power of the many,'' Cohen noted. ''We ask all our families to give what they can, but more than that, we ask everyone to give something every year. Taken together, those individual gifts can become a transformative donation for the Foundation and make an immediate difference in the life of this institution and its recipients.'"

Consider this:
- It takes $60,000 in funds to hire one full-time employee that can correspond and follow-up with 450 baalei teshuvah annually; in contrast, it takes $60,000 to hire one full-time kiruv professional who is mekarev 2-5 people annually (at the exclusion of follow-up).
