Kiruv is perhaps the most important mitzvah of our times. Nothing can compare to bringing alienated Jews closer to the Torah!!!
However, with the enormous privilege of "doing" kiruv, comes the tremendous responsibility we have towards each and every individual whom we bring into the fold of Torah and Mitzvah observance. At times, we may be able to maintain a long-term relationship and remain accountable to those whom we bring in; accountable that they are shtieging and not falling through the cracks, chas v'shalom. At other times, we may not be able to provide the long-term follow-up our talmidim need and deserve. At these times, Yad L'Shuv is there to help. Whether you are a private individual actively involved in kiruv or you work for a kiruv organization, the Yad L'Shuv Foundation offers services and programing to help your talmidim become well integrated members of the Torah Observant community.
Our Family Mediation Program, gives your talmidim and their parents (and other significant family members) a chance to have a telephone session with a trained social worker in order to get everybody in the family on the same page and to address outstanding uncertainties, fears, and concerns (related to your talmid's decision to become Torah Observant) in a non-confrontational and non-judgemental conversation.
Our Chaver Program, pairs people well-established in their Torah Observance with people new to Torah Observance. The Chaver/Mentor is expected to call the person with whom they're paired numerous times a year throughout the years (thus allowing time for a stable, healthy, and organic relationship to develop) to check-up on that person and see how they're doing; thus giving the baal teshuvah a consistant person in their lives whom they can speak to and rely on. Regardless of whether your baalei teshuvah are going on to yeshivas and seminaries, moving to different locations, or staying put close by, having that consistent person in their lives adds to their sense of well-being and comfort within the Torah Observant community, thus promoting the ease of their transition into their new lifestyle.
All of The Yad L'Shuv Foundation's programs are free-of-charge and greatly compliment and enhance your work as a Kiruv professional.
